Lily had gotten an owl back from Asher and decided since she hadn’t really talked to anyone lately, she ought to get some kind of socialization in. She actually put herself together, putting on makeup and doing her hair. She made her way from the tower to the Great Hall. She looked found Asher almost immediately. “Hey.” she said softly as she sat down across from him.

Asher looked up and grinned. “Lily!” he exclaimed. “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you anywhere since I got back.” He smiled at her and flicked a piece of his orange at her head. “Avoiding me?” He noticed that she looked tired, and a little worn down. 

She gave him a soft smile, “I could never avoid you Asher. I’ve just been staying in my room, you know studying for OWLs and everything-” she yawned and shrugged, “Where have you been? Since you got back from where?”

Asher shook his head. “We need to get you a Pepper-Up potion or something. Am I not fascinating enough for you to stay awake?” he grinned to let her know that he was joking. “I was just out clearing up a few things, I got permission and everything. My days of delinquency are beginning to fade.”

“Hey Holly.” Asher smiled. He sat across from her on the post, balancing. He was bigger than the girl - it was harder for him to sit comfortably without falling. “It’s all classified. Top secret.” He fiddled with his thumbs, then looked at her curiously. “Why are you up here, anyways?”

“It’s my home away from home, up here.” she said softly. “Usually no one is up here but me and on occasion…” she trailed off as she thought of Derek. He was usually the only one who ever found her up there. She shook her head and pasted on a smiled “a random straggler, like yourself.” She sat up on the beam she had been laying on and looked at him curiously. “What a pair we make, both hiding out and from what?” she laughed.

Asher watched curiously as the redhead seemed to revert into herself for a moment. It was a different side to the vivacious Holly, and he was a bit intrigued. He smiled at her and replied, “We’re hiding from life, of course. It all seems further away when you’re being knocked in the head with wooden beams.”

“To be fair, you ran into the beam as it was there first.” she grinned and winked at him. She placed a hand under her chin and rested her head there. “So aside from making close, personal friends with a wooden beam, how have you been Asher? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you around.”

“It could have moved, been a little more polite,” replied Asher, rubbing his head resentfully. “I’ve been… visiting family. What about you, Miss Holly? How have you been?”

“The one and only.” smirked Asher. He leaned back against the bench, stretching. “Just bogged down in homework. Besides, you’re the one who’s always gone.” He smiled at her. “Where on earth is a little daydreamer like you always disappearing too?”

“I’m not the one who goes off disappearing; I stay in one spot, and the next day I move to another. So.. maybe it’s you who goes off and disappears.” Odette smirked in reply to Asher, the corners of her mouth tugging up into a smile. Odette folded her arms neatly in front of her and sat back, embracing the shine of the sun.

Asher laughed quietly, leaning back on the bench. “Oh, but I’m highly predictable,” he replied. “All I do is eat and sleep and occasionally do homework. You, my little bookworm, are much more fascinating.” He was constantly finding himself surprised by the blonde, and wondered why she counted herself so below what he thought of her.

Asher rubbed his head resentfully, squinting through the dust to see the girl. “I think it’s a little of both.” he replied. “Mind if I join you?” He moved forward, more cautiously as he glanced around for different hazards.
